My short fiction has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Saturday Evening Post, Aestas, Best New Writing, The Green Hills Literary Lantern, The Long Story and other publications. My fiction also won a Runner-Up place in The Great American Fiction Contest, an Editor's Choice Award -BNR 2017, Honorable Mentions in American Literary Review and Fabula Press, and a $10,000 Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence.
My scholarly literature work has been published or forthcoming in Poets & Writers magazine, Muses India: Essays on English-Language Writers from Mahomet to Rushdie, The Facts on File Companion to the American Short Story, FORUM: The University of Edinburgh Postgraduate Journal of Culture, and other venues.
I have an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from George Mason University, an MA in English from Wright State University, an MA in International Affairs, Communications and Development Studies from Ohio University, and a BA in English from Ohio State University. I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sri Lanka.
I have over 11 years experience teaching a range of creative writing and literature courses to diverse student populations at universities and community colleges including Antioch University, Ohio Dominican University, Columbus State Community College, Wright State University and others.
